The Štilec guesthouse & restaurant is situated in the beautiful environment of Southern Bohemia. Near the guesthouse there are a lot of cultural sights and places of interest which are worth visiting.

The surroundings of Štilec will certainly please nature lovers – it is the ideal place for both hiking and cycling. Singles, couples, groups and families with children can all choose from a wide range of tourist activities. Even anglers and mushroom pickers will get their money's worth.

Trip destinations:
• Český Krumlov (10 km) - a medieval town, the well-preserved historical part of which is protected under UNESCO, offers not only unforgettable picturesque narrow streets with a number of cafés and pubs but also a guided tour of a famous castle (Castle Cesky Krumlov the second largest castle in Bohemia after the Prague Castle) with a marvellous castle garden (and an original knights' pub). You can visit an open air revolving theatre (open from June to September). We can organise the tickets too. The castle is open daily.

• České Budějovice (12 km) - a former royal town of České Budějovice is located at the confluence of the rivers Vltava and Malše. The town is famous for its places of historical interest – the Black Tower, the Square named after King Přemysl Otakar II with the Samson fountain, the St. Nikolaus Church, a former Dominican Monastery, the Salt House – situated at the Piaristické Square and many others. The Budvar brewery is also worth visiting.

• Hluboká nad Vltavou (23 km) - probably the most famous Czech chateau Hluboká nad Vltavou was founded in the 13th century by Czech King Vaclav I. The present fabulous look is, however, the result of romanticized reconstruction from the 19th century in the style of English Tudor Gothic. You can choose from several castle tours, with a visit to the local castle kitchen especially worthwhile.
It is not only the children that will enjoy a visit to the Ohrada Zoo, which is situated next to the hunting castle. It is possible to walk comfortably along the banks of a pond from the Hluboká castle to the Zoo in a few minutes. It is open daily.

• Zřícenina Dívčí Kámen (18 km) - Dívčí kámen is a popular destination of many South-Bohemian people. It is not only one of the largest ruins in Bohemia but it is also located within beautiful surroundings. History lovers will be attracted by the former Celtic settlement, situated nearby. The original Gothic castle was built in the middle of the 14th century. In the beginning of the 15th century it was enlarged and fortified. Nowadays, there are still the remains of the walls and fortifications.

• Rozhledna Kleť (20 km) - the highest peak of the Blanský les (altitude 1084 m) offers a view of one of the most beautiful parts of Southern Bohemia. There is an astronomical observatory with a lookout tower. You can see the far peaks of the Alps in favourable weather. Experienced walkers can climb the mountain on foot. Those who would like to take it easier can use the cable car.
